PharmPoint and Medical Research Consulting Services (MRCS) will provide trial, data management and biostatistical analysis services for imminent clinical studies of Cellceutix’ candidate cancer drug Kevetrin.

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will see PharmPoint and MRCS provide “the basic resources necessary to conduct” Phase I trials of the agent in the treatment of drug resistant cancers.

Earlier this year contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) Formatech won selected by Cellceutix to supply stocks of Kevetrin as a lyophilised powder for reconstitution in saline solution for Phase I studies.

Preclinical testing of the drug was also outsourced , with US contract research organisation (CRO) Toxikon completing final development of the drug late last year.
