Clinerion has filed a patent for a technology that matches anonymized records with corresponding hospital medical records to identify potential clinical trial participants.

The patent was filed at the European Patent Office (EPA).

According to the company, the “anonymized identification” (ANID) technology exclusively uses anonymized data. Implemented in Clinerion’s Patient Recruitment System (PRS), the new technology reduces the risk of private information being revealed.

Though the technology uses anonymized records, it allows authorized clinical trial managers at the hospital to re-identify eligible patients.

The system’s set-up features a one-way, outbound-only connection between the hospital IT infrastructure and the Clinerion PRS server, which is locally hosted.

Moving forward, all new PRS installations will use the technology and existing installations will be migrated on request.

As Outsourcing-Pharma.com previously reported, the company has been expanding its PRS platform and has recently rolled out its services to countries in EEMEA.

Clinerion’s patient data services include data-assisted protocol optimization, site feasibility evolution, and patient identification.
