The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) says its upcoming course for freelance clinical researchers will better prepare those choosing to go it alone in the trials sector.

The “Starting a Business as a Freelancer” course, to be held on November 4 at the ICR’s base in Buckinghamshire, UK, will combine expert training, group discussion and advice on the practical aspects of freelancing.

Allan Smith, co-author of the ICR’s freelance guide, said that while working as a freelance clinical researcher can be rewarding, there are financial risks associated with the career.

Smith went on to explain that: “We recognised this dilemma and have established this course to help ICR members operate in the most effective and productive way.”
