PRA gets creative in attracting more top talent

In an industry with high employee turnover rates, CROs (contract research organizations) are now turning to new, creative ways to try to recruit and retain top talent.

A recent example of this type of innovation is PRA Health Science’s launch on Monday of a new initiative to identify and attract skilled clinical research employees across a range of positions in the US, Greece, Singapore, Brazil, Poland, Argentine, Mexico, France and other countries.

With a team of over 50 recruiters, PRA, which has more than 11,000 employees worldwide, is looking to fill hundreds of new positions, the vast majority of which are US-based, and include clinical research associates (CRAs), particularly for oncology trials, as well as project analysts, managers and other jobs.

The push to attract new talent comes as overall employee turnover is down over the past three years, which may be a sign that the industry is maturing.

Candidate Experience

The PRA initiative includes a new website which features profiles and videos of 10 current PRA employees. Profiles of the employees are meant to give candidates a glimpse into clinical development work.

The tremendous growth of our industry is driving the demand for more CRAs,” said PRA VP of Talent Acquisition Glenn Sward.

The initiative complements other PRA initiatives, including its Bridge Program which addresses the pressing need to recruit qualified CRAs.

PRA’s Bridge Program is an innovative training program that transitions qualified RNs, study coordinators, and allied health professionals to a CRA role,” Sward added.

PRA also launched an “Oncology University” to respond to the growing need for oncology-experienced CRAs.

Sward added: “PRA’s new Candidate Experience initiative is designed to attract the highest caliber talent and give potential employees a comprehensive view of our culture and the many rewards of working in an industry that helps bring life-saving drugs to market.”
