Quintiles Transnational executive Stephen Cutler has left the firm and joined rival US CRO Kendle International as its new senior executive VP and COO.

Dr Cutler, who leaves Quintiles after 14 years in the oncology and global project management office, replaces Chris Bergen who becomes Cincinnati-based Kendle’s new chief administrative officer (CAO).

In a press release Cutler said that: “The long-term outlook for clinical development outsourcing remains strong, and I am committed to furthering Kendle's focus on operational excellence and strategic customer relationships across the Phase II-IV market."

Prior to joining the contract research organisation (CRO) Quintiles Cutler worked for Sandoz, now owned by Swiss drug major Novartis, in Australia and Europe where he served as a Group Head providing leadership for Phase I-III trials in a number of therapeutic areas.
