Stanford joins NIH ResearchMatch recruitment organisation

Stanford University Medical School has become the latest institution to sign up to the US NIH’s ResearchMatch trial recruitment network.

ResearchMatch, run by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) clinical and translational service awards consortium, is designed to connect patients with clinical trials information in order to boost recruitment rates.

Stanford Univerity MD Steve Alexander said that while patients are keen to join trial programmes but there is a lack of information, explaining that his Spectrum research group alone received 450 calls from people looking to participate in existing clinical research.

Stanford joins the fifty other institutions to have joined the programme, available at ResearchMatch.org, which includes the University of California, Davis.
