Southeast Asian market expansion group DKSH has penned a deal with Nordic Bioscience to provide clinical trial logistics services in Hong Kong.

Financial details of the deal have not been divulged but DKSH will be responsible for the importation, storage, delivery, return and destruction of investigational products for the biotech firm in Hong Kong.

According to VP of DKSH Hong Kong Richard Holloway, “the number of clinical trials in Asia has been increasing steadily,” and the firm is “seeing rising demands and referrals from clinical research organizations on clinical trial logistics services in Hong Kong.”

Jeppe Ragnar Andersen, Head of Clinical Development, Nordic Bioscience, added the peninsular “has excellent infrastructure in terms of transportation, workforce and legal framework for conducting clinical trials,” and the deal with DKSH should: “ensure that the logistics of our trials are managed with the expertise and quality we demand.”

DKSH has inked a number of deals in the region over the last year with pharma firms, including Bayer, Pfizer, GSK and Kyowa Hakko.
