Our round-up of who to watch this week in contract pharma starts with executive changes at PPD.
The contract research organisation Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) has appointed Bhooshi De Silva as senior VP of corporate development and strategy.
De Silva began his career in R&D and commercialisation at Pfizer, including a role as VP of business development evaluation and strategy. Most recently, he was head of business development, corporate strategy and international teams, at Optimer Pharmaceuticals.
PPD was awarded contracts last month to develop countermeasures against pandemics and diseases caused by chemical, nuclear and biological threats.
