CRO (contract research organization) Parexel International has allowed clinical technology companies CRF Health and Clinical Ink to join its Perceptive Partner Program.

The partner program allows technology, consulting, reseller and training companies, as well as CROs, the ability to enhance and broaden their services to biopharma customers through the use of the Perceptive MyTrials eClinical platform and other clinical and technical support services provided by Parexel.

To better ensure the safety and timeliness of their trials, our customers are increasingly seeking efficient approaches to patient screening, enrolment and randomization,” said Rachael Wyllie, CEO of CRF Health. “As a Perceptive partner, we can address these needs by integrating our electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments [eCOA] offering with Perceptive MyTrials randomization and electronic data capture technologies.”

Graham Bunn, VP of the Perceptive Partner Program, told Outsourcing-pharma.com “the Perceptive Partner Program is working with most of the top ten CROs for a range of EDC [electronic data capture], CTMS [clinical trial management system], RTSM [randomization and trial supply management], RIM [regulatory information management], ePRO [electronic patient-reported outcome] and Medical Imaging applications.  Recently mid-sized CROs have joined the Partner Program.”

During FY 2014, the Perceptive Partner Program worked with almost two dozen CROs of all sizes, Bunn added, noting they “like the open standards/open technology approach of the Perceptive MyTrials Platform and the associated training program.”

CROs also can use one, many or all of the Perceptive MyTrials applications in combination with other integrated e-clinical applications.  And the partner program includes a training program to assure CROs that their staff will have the skills needed to support Perceptive MyTrials applications.

Parexel also has partnership agreements with a number of tech companies, as well as eClinical Outcomes Assessment, eSource and Contract Manufacturing (CMO) vendors, Bunn said.

Developed in 2013, the Perceptive Partner Program offers support services and training that enable service providers to integrate their offerings with other applications, including:

  • DataLabs Electronic Data Capture (EDC);
  • ClinPhone Randomization and Trial Supply Management (RTSM);
  • IMPACT Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS);
  • Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePRO);
  • Medical Imaging;
  • Perceptive MyTrials Data-Driven Monitoring; and
  • LIQUENT Insight Regulatory Information Management

Ed SeguineCEO of one of the new partners, Clinical Inkadded, “Integrating solutions from Perceptive MyTrials into our SureSource clinical platform will provide sponsors with proven trial management solutions in a user-friendly tablet PC system.  This presents a powerful combination of functionality and mobility.”

As study designs become increasingly complex with the uptake of adaptive trials, sponsors are relying on eClinical technologies to manage protocols and evolving regulatory requirements.

Sponsors continue to seek fully integrated, best-of-breed technology solutions and clinical outsourcing services that can be efficiently managed,” Bunn noted.
