People on the move: pharma consultants special

Biopharmaceutical project management provider PM Group has named Allan Schouten as its new executive director.

Currently the firm’s managing director for Asian operations, Schouten first joined the group in 1998.

He is also a director of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.

BioBridges has drafted in Warren Steinberg as its new controller.

He joins biopharma consultancy firm from Medical Device Consulting Inc., where he was CFO and director of finance.

Andrew Young, managing partner for BioBridges, said: “We are excited to have him on board. His impressive knowledge in staffing, FDA regulated companies, accounting, finance, human resources, technology and legal areas will be a significant asset in our growth plans.”

MedCap Advisors has hired Edward Ahn as its new managing director and chief scientific officer.

Previously, he was VP of biologics product development for Pioneer Surgical Technology. He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Center of Innovation for Nanobiotechnology (COIN).

Christopher Velis, CEO, said: "His expertise is perfectly in tune with our mission to improve health and medical technology, as we stay focused on the intersection at which physicians and patients meet. Ed will be a significant contributor to our team and to our clients."

Certara has taken on Christine Garnett as principal scientist.

She joins the firm after stepping down from her role at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as team leader in the division of pharmacometrics, Office of Clinical Pharmacology.

Dan Weiner, Certara's senior VP and general manager for software products and consulting services, said: “Christine's experience and leadership in the field of cardiac safety assessment will be particularly valuable as we execute on our plans to advance the capabilities of Phoenix, our platform of pharmacometric analysis and modeling tools, and to further enhance the services that we provide to our clients to improve drug development productivity and decision-making.”

Bebe Bernstein has been appointed COO at DKI.

She joins the healthcare relationship marketing firm from Flashpoint Medica, where she was senior VP and director of operations.

DKI founder and president Daniella Koren said: “Bebe’s role will be making sure that we can deliver work that meets our high standards. She brings a wealth of experience in the healthcare advertising industry, and we’re delighted that she has joined DKI.”

Healthcare advertising consultancy AbelsonTaylor has hired two new senior interactive developers in Tony Adams, and Chris Mauck.

Adamsjoins the firm after two years as a freelancer in the same role. Mauck also served in the same role, but for Apple’s iPad team.
