Sepracor is reducing its contract sales force by 410 and its in-house team by 350 as part of restructuring efforts that will eliminate 20 per cent of its workforce.
The move, which is predicted to generate savings of $210m, will leave Sepracor with a total sales force of 1,325.
Sepracor’s restructuring efforts so far appear to be vindicated by the $88.4m net income it posted in its fourth quarter results, which marks a significant improvement on the $5m loss it recorded in the corresponding period of 2007.
