The new unit, at Biotec’s facility in Bridgend, Wales, will packaging and ship candidate pharmaceutical to trial sites for industry customers on a contractual basis having recently been approved by the UK’s MHRA.
Operations director Rachel Griffiths said: “The GMP-compliant primary packing service responds to the needs of a growing client base and provides companies with a full clinical supply service, from packing and kit assembly, through to distribution, returns and destruction.
Griffiths explained that Biotec had opted to use disposable packaging equipment to eliminate the need for product specific cleaning protocols.
