CDMO Fujifilm adopts procurement automation solution

FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies USA (FDBU) has selected SciQuest to automate ‘critical’ purchasing and accounts payable processes.

The source-to-pay (S2P) solutions suite company will integrate its cloud-based program with FDBU’s existing SAP ERP system.

The integration of SciQuest’s software into the company’s financial system will provide more detail and accurate cost accounting as well as greater visibility into overall spend, according to FDBU.

Neal Falcone, Sr. Procurement Manager at FDBU told us the company expects significant efficiency gains in the S2P process.

“First, we will be able to better direct our spend through preferred supply base, enabling us to leverage our spend and have better cost controls. Secondly, we expect to free up man hours in the purchasing process; whereby we can refocus the procurement efforts on more strategic initiatives such as cost savings projects,” he explained.

“A primary goal is to make purchasing easier and more efficient for our end users. This will allow them to spend more time in serving our clients needs, focusing on the functions within their expertise.”
