Changda lands Sanofi supply contract

Chinese chemicals firm Changda International is to supply French drug giant Sanofi Aventis with thiophene under a contract announced yesterday.

While further details of the agreement were not provided, QinRan Zhu, CEO of Shandong-based Changda was positive about its impact, explaining that “[It] emphasizes our high quality standards and ability to compete on an international level

He added that the order was preceded by a rigid due diligence process undertaken by Sanofi on Changda and its products.

Zhu also said winning the Sanofi contract “is a further demonstration of how our R&D, product development and market intelligence work together to successfully conquer new markets with new products."

Thiophene has a number of applications in the pharmaceutical sector as both a drug building block and an industrial drying agent.
