Haupt Pharma has expanded its capacity for analytical projects with the addition of two new laboratories at its Amareg unit in Regensburg, Germany.

Amareg is responsible for the development for analytical methods, primarily for solid-based formulations, undertaking such projects for between 20 and 30 bulk products each year.

The unit also undertakes analysis work and is responsible for the release of materials for clinical trials, meaning there is a need to schedule both development and analysis into the work programme.

The contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) said that, in addition to extra capacity, the new labs will help “optimise the workflow of development tasks, avoiding the need to share resources with routine investigations.”

Haupt added that: “In future the analytical activities of the Development department will be separate in terms of both organisation and facilities from the routine investigations that are carried out for quality control purposes; this will enable analysis of both kinds to be planned and conducted even more efficiently within the site.”
