Recipharm wins scale-up manufacturing contract for Addison’s disease drug with DuoCort Pharma.

The Sweden-based contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) group will produce the drug candidate, a once daily dual-release hydrocortisone tablet, on a commercial scale and will co-invest in the project.

Recipharm executive VP Carl-Johan Spak said the deal fits with the firm’s Venture Fund model, which sees it invest in development and manufacturing capabilities in partnership with customers.

DuoCort CEO Maria Foss said that the collaboration and Recipharm’s decision to put money into the project is “a real endorsement of the quality and commercial potential of our drug.”

Financials details of the investment have not been disclosed
