Lonza will offer Odyssey Thera’s protein-fragment complementation assay (PCA) technology as part of its compound profiling services, following an agreement between the companies.

PCA has been used in pharmacological profiling to screen small molecules to assess their impact on the target, see if they give the desired phenotype and monitor if they cause undesired off-pathway effects.

In addition to PCA, Lonza gains an option to certain exclusive global technology licenses. The companies are also collaborating on technology, product development and marketing activities.

Under the terms of the deal Odyssey is receiving an equity investment and technology development funding. Pfizer and Merck & Co are also investors on Odyssey.
