US gov calls industry to join mission to Indonesaia and Phillipines
Pharma service companies looking to access the growing Philippine and Indonesian markets have been invited to join a Public-Private trade mission by the US Department of Commerce.

The International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce issued a notice today calling for representatives from a variety of US-based healthcare industry manufacturers – including drug delivery devices and lab equipment makers – and service providers to join a Trade Mission to Manila, Philippines and Jakarta, Indonesia, early next year.

The delegation will meet with government officials to discuss regional regulations, policies and procedures in the healthcare industry, as well as industry developments, opportunities, and sales strategies across the region.

The healthcare markets in both regions are growing, driven by rise in population, increased annual per capita income and growing investments in healthcare. For the Philippines, healthcare spending last year was around $9bn with a projected 10% increase in 2014.

For Indonesia: “Continued strong growth over the next few years and the Indonesian government’s recent implementation of the National Health Insurance Plan earlier this year, provide an excellent opportunity for US-based Healthcare manufacturers and service providers,” the notice said.

The envoy hopes to include between 15-20 companies, selected on the suitability of the applicants’ offering and potential for business in the target markets. The deadly for submission is November 21 and the mission leave in February 2015.
