TrialScope debuts website platform with patient engagement capabilities

TrialScope has launched clinical trial transparency service and health literacy management solution.

The clinical trial transparency service​ (CTTS) will allow sponsors to engage with patients, health care professionals, and researchers, through a public wesbite that will act as a space for further involvement between community members and sponsors.

The CTTS is immediately available to sponsors and can be integrated with the company’s other offerings. In an age where trial transparency is being repeatedly called for, sponsors can now demonstrate relevance and compliance through the website. Sponsors can include documents, forms, regulations, eligibility requirements, even trial restrictions on the site, according to the company

Francine Lane, VP of global transparency told us that with transparency, the medical community, including patients and caregivers, can easily find trials that are applicable to them.

“Being more transparent allows sponsors to build trust with the public, which can lead to higher levels of recruitment and engagement in clinical trials and, ultimately, to the success and viability of the trial,”​ said Lane.

Through the new CTTS, patients will be able to find clinical trials through a location-based search function and sponsor websites. The service also connects patients to others within the clinical trial sphere through social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, and email.

Additionally, the sponsor’s website will be automatically updated with information submitted to ClinicalTrials.gov to reduce redundancy and improve accuracy. This will be done as part of the CTTS service that allows sponsors to share trial data, trial literacy, and trial recruitment for patient education and retention.

TrialScope has partnered with patients, advocacy groups, and communication experts to provide an interface that delivers easy-to-understand trial information. This aspect will provide literacy in an aim to make trials more engaging and patient-centric, according to the company.

Lane put it ever so simply, “Patients and caregivers also deserve to understand what they're reading.”

TrialScope debuted the service with three customers that are cited by the company to be of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in the world.
