US manufacturer of vitamins, minerals, herbs and supplements D&E Pharmaceuticals, has launched a contract manufacturing services initiative, principally aimed at small to medium sized nutraceutical suppliers.

According to a statement released the week, under the programme, D&E will provide the small to medium dietary supplement retailer, wholesaler or manufacturer with end-to-end production capabilities by sharing their expertise in formulation, new product development, blending, encapsulating, labelling, and packaging (bottling, packeting, bulk powders).

"The extension of our business model into Contract Manufacturing Services," said Eric Organ, president of D&E Pharmaceuticals, "leverages the increased capacity of our recently expanded 30,000 sq. ft. facility, and also provides access to a rare and valuable source for product integrity in the small to medium size batch run. The door is no longer closed to the small organisation looking to launch its own private label."

Essentially D&E Pharmaceuticals formulates, develops and manufacturers its own brands of dietary nutritionals, sports supplements and nutraceuticals for retail, wholesale, online and catalogue customers, both domestically and internationally.

"Our new offering allows our clientele to outsource some or all of the manufacturing processes and focus on their sales and marketing efforts, while we handle their production needs. They can have us private label one of our 1,000+ existing formulas for them or have us assist them in developing their own product(s)," added Organ.
