MiraiBio, a subsidiary of Hitachi Software Engineering, is to act as a distributor of Gentra Systems' Autopure LS automated large sample nucleic acid purification system and related consumables in the USA and certain other regions of the Americas.

MiraiBio will also promote Gentra's line of chemistry products for manual purification, including its Puregene DNA Purification Kits.

Leonard Klevan, MiraiBio's CEO, said that the addition of the Autopure LS products adds front-end automation to the company's current line up of microarray and image analysis products. He predicted significant synergies from promoting the Autopure LS alongside MiraiBio's Luminex Liquid Array System and MasterPlex Analysis Software for multiplexed genomic and proteomic assay applications.

MiraiBio was spun off from Hitachi in 1999 as a subsidiary dedicated to serving the life sciences market. It provides life science research products in fields such as genomics, proteomics, drug discovery and forensics, with a particular focus on bioimaging, microarrays, bioinformatics, and spectroscopy.
