Kalix launches tube feeder
French company Kalix has launched a new system called the Universal
Feeder which increases the production capacity of its machines for
filling and cartoning pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in tubes.

The product can handle cylindrical and elliptical plastic tubes, and even very flat elliptical tubes, according to the company. It also handles aluminium tubes and very small nozzle cap tubes, and can handle delicate items.
The Universal Feeder has a capacity of three boxes of tubes and it is able to achieve a production of 110 tubes per minute. Kalix notes that a size changeover can be achieved in about five minutes with no sizing equipment or tools required and only limited adjustment.
The feeder is adaptable to existing machines (via a separate support), and it can be mounted on Kalix's new KX1100, KX1101 or KX801 fillers.
