New products at Pittcon from Ultrasonic
titration measurements and analysing small-volume chemical
reactions at next year's Pittcon exhibition.
The Ultrasonic Scientific Titration Kinetic Analyser is a high-resolution spectrometer that can be used to measure microstructural and molecular processes when the concentration of compounds are changed, for example during titrations. This makes it perfect for drug screening and measuring binding constants, enzymatic activity and kinetics of chemical reactions.
The instrument can be used on volumes right down to 40 microlitres, according to the firm.
Also being showcased for the first time is a spectrometry software package that the company claims is four times faster than the company's previous version. It includes an extensive database of background material, upgraded data analysis capabilities and an integrated help system.
In addition, a new range accessories/external plug-in modules for Ultrasonic Scientific's HR-US 102 high-resolution spectrometer will be presented at Pittcon.
These accessories transform the HR-US 102 spectrometer, which was originally designed for analysis of liquid systems, into a platform for performing a wide range of additional analytical functions, according to the company.
They include a titration accessory, which improves the instrument's performance in analysing intermolecular interactions, ligand binding, aggregation processes, gelation and phase transitions.
Pittcon 2004 will be held 8-11 March 2004 in Chicago, US.
