New bathless tablet tester reaches UK
testing how well pharmaceutical tablets dissolve that does not need
a water bath. The benefit? A reduction in maintenance, faster
throughput and less system vibration and noise than bath-based
systems.
The product was originally launched in the US last July but is now available in the UK from local distributor Omicron. It features a patented system of temperature monitoring where the temperature sensor is built into the shaft of the stirrer in each vessel.
This means that the system can test a number of different temperatures at once, with continuous temperature monitoring, and eliminate the 'noise' that can occur from the water/heating element of rival systems . This should make the readout more accurate, according to Distek.
The Distek 6100's control module can store up to 100 pre-programmed test methods so that set up times and operator errors are reduced, which can also increase laboratory productivity, it claimed.
The system features detachable and interchangeable paddles and baskets, which offer time savings when converting since there is no need to remove the shafts, as well as eliminating possible vessel breakage during changeovers.
