In-Pharmatechnologist's periodic round up of personnel moves in the
pharmaceutical sector includes a crop of new chief executives and
senior managers across the pharmachem, drug delivery and
biomanufacturing sectors.

German active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturer Girindus​ has appointed Greg McParland​ as CEO of Girindus North America. He formerly held positions at Altergy Systems, NextPharma and Aerojet Fine Chemicals in the US.

Sylvie Gregoire​ has joined GlycoFi​, a company specialising in the production of biopharmaceuticals from yeast cells, as CEO. She joins the company from US biotechnology concern Biogen Idec, where she held the post of chief technical officer.

Canadian drug delivery company Biovail​ has replaced Eugene Melnyk​, its founder and CEO, with pharma industry veteran Douglas Squires​. Melnyk will continue to serve in his capacity as chairman of the company. Squires has spent the past six years at MDS, and prior to that, he was with Upjohn and Pharmacia Upjohn for more than 22 years.

Peter Ketelaar​ has left DSM Biologics to take up a new position of director of business development, Europe, at Maxygen subsidiary Codexis​. California, US-based Codexis provides biocatalysis and fermentation processes and products to the life sciences, chemical and allied industries.

Polymer Laboratories​ of the UK has appointed Francesco Spadola​ to manage European sales and customer support for the company's range of StratoSpheres resins for peptide, solution and solid phase synthesis. Spadola joins Polymer Labs from Argonaut.
