Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals (SAFC) has promoted Michael Harris to head of business development in Europe, Mike Czarny to director of sales in the US, and Andreas Weiler to the post of head of project management and technology transfer at SAFC Pharma.
Ueli Roost has been named the new chief executive of Swiss chemicals company SF-Chem. He joins from medtech company Sulzer AG, where he was chairman and CEO.
Michael Justice has been appointed director of business development at Dynamic Synthesis, the custom synthesis division of Rockwood Specialties subsidiary Dynamit Nobel. He will be representing the western region of North America.

Hubert Stuckler has moved from DSM to join Siegfried, where he will head up the Swiss firm's Siegfried Actives business unit.
Millipore's new president and CEO, Martin Madaus, will take up his duties as of 1 January, 2005. He replaces former president and CEO Francis Lunger who will remain as chairman of the firm until 1 March. Dr Madaus comes to Millipore from Roche Diagnostics.
Michael Nestor has been named CEO of US company NanoBio Corp, a specialist in antimicrobial nanoemulsion technology, bringing with him 25 years of industry experience. He joins the firm from his previous position as president of Alpharma Branded Products, a division of Alpharma.
German chemical and pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA has named Elmar Schnee as head of the ethicals division, effective 1 January, 2005. Schnee joined the firm last year as head of Merck Sante, its France-based ethicals unit.
