DecisionNews Media seeks pharma industry reporter

You will have a keen interest in both science and business news, and a commitment to networking within the pharmaceuticals industry and to providing coverage that will aide the best possible business decisions. You will have a creative, positive and innovative outlook, a rampant curiosity, and a desire to get to the heart of every subject you cover.

You do not need to have had experience within online journalism, but must have cuttings and possibly awards that demonstrate outstanding journalistic potential. You will work well under pressure, write at speed, and deliver to deadline.

The group additionally runs an unrivalled training programme for business and science journalists, covering the in-depth interpretation of accounting data, statistical data mining, investigative reporting skills, advanced research skills, story structure and style and the development of news angles and agendas.

You will join this training programme for your first year in the post, and quickly be given the chance to start initiating news stories and interviews, with a view to an editorship, should your work prove excellent.

After an initial training period, this job will be based in the group's London newsroom, which specialises in pharmaceutical coverage. The Montpellier newsroom is the hub of DecisionNews Media's food industry operation. The group also has a newsroom in New York, as well as foreign correspondents in Asia, central and eastern Europe, and other regions.

The editorial operation is led by Jenny Luesby, who has 20 years experience in journalism at the FT, BBC and EIU and is an international trainer of business journalists and author of the FT's handbook on business journalism.
