The Pharmaceutical Institute, provider of specialised knowledge for
the pharma industry, is now providing custom research services to
cater for those with complex research needs.

The company's Research Center can now work with its customers to create and conduct an entirely customised research program to provide a complete review of all the information available on a specific topic.

This allows people in the pharma industry to spend more time productively applying knowledge and less time searching for knowledge resources, said the company.

"In our conversations with pharma and biotech professionals, we've found that their approaches to looking for critical information are both ineffective and inefficient at times," said executive director, Dan Blue.

"People typically spend countless hours searching for information from disparate online sources, which wastes time and produces incomplete results. Also, most people are not aware of potential data gaps, since certain resources are only available on a subscription basis," he said.

Staffed with a team of information specialists, the firm can provide its clients with access to an extensive library that includes more than 400 proprietary databases, thousands of functional and therapeutic area market research reports, and other publicly available sources of information.

After conducting an extensive search of the Pharmaceutical Institute's resources, individuals will receive a report that includes a complete list of sources searched and information found, prioritised according to the closest match to the individual's request.

The reports can then be delivered in the company's format of choice and can even be integrated into a company's knowledge management system, The Pharmaceutical Institute said.
