Bertin Technologies makes available its solution for biological
sample preparation to extract nucleic acids (DNA & RNA), and
proteins - a crucial process in drug discovery and development as
well as having implications in the pharmacology and toxicology
sector.

Emphasis on protein drug targets and biomarkers is stimulating interest in proteomics and triggering technological advances in the field. Samples analysis are increasing in number and demand for sample preparation products are expected to grow notably.

The Precellys 24 has been designed for the benchtop and deals in the grinding, lysis and homogenisation processes of biological samples.

The product boasts a feature that allows simultaneous operation of up to 24 tubes containing up to 2 ml sample at high speed (6800 rpm).

One of the selling points of this piece of kit is its efficiency in grinding difficult samples like spores of bacteria and hard tissues. It is this efficiency that allows it to be used in L3 laboratory under high throughput conditions, achieving 50 to 100 runs per day.

Bertin commented that various samples would pose no problem for the Precellys 24 achieving compatibility with samples such as animal/human tissues (kidney, muscle, hair), soil samples microorganisms - spores - bacteria, and cereals, plants.

Designwise the ergonomics have not been neglected, featuring fast and easy loading thanks to the patented Press B'lock system.

Easy cleaning is achievable with direct access to the sample holder and compatibility to usual cleaning solutions.
