Greiner Bio-One presents its cell culture AutoFlask at the
Analytica show, which uses a robot accessible entry septum that
prevents coring by pipette tips and ensures sterility of the flask
contents throughout solution exchanges.

This method of entry does away with removable lids or screw caps, which pose reliability, speed and automation problems.

Along with a standard microplate footprint fit, the AutoFlask's main features include compatibility with a wide range of cell culture and liquid handling systems.

Additionally, the hydrophobic gaseous exchange membrane and the proprietary physical surface treatment for adherent cells add to the product's versatility and range of applications.

The external dimensions of the new automation friendly cell culture flask comply with ANSI Standards, rendering it suitable for use on a wide range of cell culture and liquid handling systems.

With a design to enable smooth handling during cell seeding, cultivation and subsequent analysis, the AutoFlask features an integrated hydrophobic filter membrane to permit unimpeded gas exchange while cultivating cells.

The flask also contains a unique centrifugation pocket that enables separation of cells from supernatant while maintaining the integrity of soft pellets.

The AutoFlask itself is made of high-grade polystyrene and is guaranteed to be sterile, non-pyrogenic and free of RNase and DNase.

A proprietary physical surface treatment is provided for the cultivation of adherent cells.

Developed in conjunction with the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF), the AutoFlask belongs to the CELLSTAR product range, which serves for cultivating microorganisms, cells or viruses.
