Pro Mach, one of the largest providers of packaging products,
services and integrated solution sets in North America, has
acquired Allpax Products, a manufacturer of sterilisation, material
handling and automated control systems for the food, beverage and
pharmaceutical industries.

Allpax provides a complete range of products and solutions for all processes and applications related to pharmaceutical sterilization needs, including spray, steam-air, water immersion, steam, rotational, vertical, horizontal, and research and development retorts.

Thus, with the acquisition of Allpax, Pro Mach adds retorting and sterilisation capabilities to its diverse packaging portfolio.

Allpax also offers advanced material handling and automated control systems and software, including solutions for unique challenges related to pouches and fragile containers.

"We are pleased to welcome the Allpax team to Pro Mach, they are proven leaders and experts in their industry, and their commitment to delivering exceptional value and high quality solutions on time that meet or exceed customer needs complements our philosophy," said John Paxton, Pro Mach Chairman and CEO.

"We're enthusiastic about the potential to better serve our existing customers and new opportunities in the growing food processing and pharmaceutical markets they bring to Pro Mach."

Allpax offers a comprehensive range of products and solutions for the entire retort, sterilization and material handling process, making it an appealing target for Pro Mach which is constantly in search of capabilities that complement its existing product portfolio.

Earlier this year Pro Mach expanded its existing capabilities in robotic case packing, identification, labeling and marking services, and horizontal thermoform, fill and seal equipment.

"Pro Mach and Allpax share a common customer base, the retorting or sterilization process is adjacent to the primary packaging and often the end-of-line processes for many of our customers," said Bud Lane, president of Pro Mach's Primary Packaging Business Unit.

"Together, with our combined expertise and wide range of products and services, we can better serve these customers and provide them with consistent high quality performance and value across many crucial areas of their packaging line."

Allpax, which is based in Covington, Louisiana, will become a new division of Pro Mach within its Primary Packaging Business Unit.

Pro Mach now has 10 divisions within its Primary Packaging, End-of-Line Packaging and Identification and Tracking Business Units, all represented by leading brands in their market segment.
