Isopak is flaunting a new automatic check weigher for capsules and
tablets, promising more accuracy than ever before.

Made by Italian-based Dott Bonapace, famous for its high quality pharmaceutical equipment, the new machine will be available in the UK and Ireland from July from Isopak.

The check weigher, model CW-30, will enable tablet and capsule manufacturers to provide even higher quality control and could even prevent patients from unwittingly receiving the wrong dose.

Operationally, the machine follows a simple input route with tablets and capsules for weighing being fed into the machine through a stainless steel hopper.

Two chutes at the side of the machine, one for accepted products and the other for rejected products, ultimately determine their final destination.

The machine can operate as a stand-alone unit or alternatively it can be interfaced with other Dott Bonapace equipment, like the company's IN-CAP capsule filling machine or CPR-6 tablet press.

Fully PLC controlled, the operator can set a variety of parameters via the user-friendly operator console.

These include weight required, maximum and minimum weight tolerance, the number of out of weight products and optional alarm facilities, for excess product rejections.

Capable of operating at up to 3,000 capsules or tablets per hour, the CW-30 can handle anything from a modest 10mg tablet to a massive 120g mouth filling capsule or pill.

This makes the new machine especially suitable for those involved in batch production, as well as research laboratories and clinical trials departments.

A further big plus for the CW-30 is that it is simple to operate and economical to run.

"Dott Bonapace manufactures a very high quality range of pharmaceutical machines and this latest addition, the CW-30 will enable even more people to benefit from the company's first class range," said Isopak's managing director, Robin Davies.
