Under the deal, Dendrite will provide help desk and hardware services for the company's French operation, which uses a Siebel based CRM solution, with the aim of freeing up more time for the pharma firm's field representatives. The company said the operation will be staffed and managed by an onsite Dendrite team based at the pharmaceutical company's local offices. Dendrite along with C3i was the most favoured third-party vendor employed for the outsourcing of sales & marketing IT support functions in a recently published report titled: "Outsourcing Trends for I.T. Services Supporting Pharma Sales & Marketing," which was compiled from a survey of the IT outsourcing practices at ten of the top global pharma firms. According to the report, help desk and production support are the only IT services that will be outsourced more by some pharmaceutical companies over the next few years. In general, firms, particularly those with the biggest IT departments, indicated that they were planning to move towards a greater level of insourcing in some or all of their other IT support areas.
