Therapeutics and Chesapeake Pharmaceutical Packaging have all had
people on the move in the world of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Sanofi-Aventis announced a change at the top of its vaccines division Sanofi Pasteur​ recently, with president and CEO David Williams stepping down after 3 decades with the company. Although continuing to serve as chairman of the company's board until January next year, Williams will be replaced by Wayne Pisano who takes over the role of president and CEO as of today. Pisano moves from his position as senior vice president of global commercial operations and corporate strategy to take up his new job, having been with the company since 1997. US biopharmaceutical firm Point Therapeutics​, however, has been forced to further reduce its workforce, last week cutting several senior positions at the firm. The company CEO, senior vice presidents, chief financial officer and scientific officer were all cut loose by the company, though a statement release by the firm said that it does intend to "utilise some or all of the recently terminated employees as part of a more variable-cost consulting team."Amira Pharmaceuticals​ has appointed it first CEO this week, in the form of Robert Baltera Jr. Baltera previously spent 17 years with biotech heavyweight Amgen, holding senior positions in corporate and contract manufacturing, as well working in finance, product development and commercial operations. Elusys Therapeutics​ has announced two new appointments, naming its new vice president of development and chairman of the board as Ron Eastman, alongside James Porter's promotion to vice president of development and manufacturing. Eastman will succeed William Miller as chairman, who has been with the company since its inception in 1998 and will remain on the board as a director. Chesapeake Pharmaceutical Packaging​ has also this week announced a vice president of operations. John McKeough will take responsibility for the North American arm of the firm's pharmaceutical packaging division, managing the four manufacturing facilities in New York and North Carolina.
