QPS subsidiary Bio-Kinetic Clinical Applications, which focuses on Phase I testing services, has appointed Mark Slama as general manager. Slama was formerly director of clinical operations at Qualia Clinical Services.
Irish contract research organisation ICON has named Dr Guy Dewil to the post of chief operating officer at ICON Central Laboratories. Dewil’s role will be to manage the division’s global operations, which operate from facilities in Farmingdale in New York, Dublin, Ireland and Singapore.
Dr Ravi Pawa has been appointed medical advisor at site management organisation Synexus, effective 22 September. He joins Dr John Robinson, senior medical advisor, in the SMO’s newly created Global Medical Affairs department.
Preclinical research services provider Wolfe Laboratories has named Roger Rush as vice president of preclinical development.
RadPharm, which provides centralised imaging review services to the biopharmaceutical industry, has appointed Kevin Duffy as vice president, sales and marketing and global business development.
Xcelience has appointed three business development associates - namely Omar Lamm, Dontae Solomon and Robert Steitz. Lamm will be handling sales and client relations for Xcelience's southeast region, Solomon will handle sales efforts for the southwest region, and Steitz will support the CRO's sales efforts in the mid-Atlantic region. Tony Rao of engineering firm Stantec has been elected president of the New England Chapter of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers. Rao leads Stantec’s life sciences division.
Christine Poon, vice chairman of Johnson & Johnson and worldwide chair of its pharmaceuticals division. will retire on March 1, 2009.
