inVentiv Health has appointed chief operating officer Terrell Herring to the additional position of president of the company.

West Coast Clinical Trials has appointed Jon Rojas as vice president of clinical operations, overseeing the Phase I business unit and strategic direction for “initiatives, processes and solutions to meet the increasing industry demand,” according to the company. Rojas joins West Coast Clinical Trials with over 12 years of clinical research experience in the CRO industry.

Ronald Shoup has been named executive director of Pharma Services at AIT Laboratories. Shoup was formerly co-founder and chief scientific officer Bioanalytical Systems Inc. (BASi).

Meanwhile, BASi has appointed Jon Brewer as vice president, sales and marketing. Brewer replaces Emilio Córdova who has resigned from the company “to pursue other opportunities,” said BASi.

Jonathan Dordick, professor of chemical and biological engineering at Rensselaer University in the US, has been named as director of the institution’s $80m Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS).

Greg MacMichael has joined Cook Pharmica, the contract development and manufacturing division of Cook Medical, as vice president, development, and chief scientific officer.

Roger Rush has been appointed vice president, preclinical development, at analytical, preformulation, formulation and stability testing services specialist Wolfe Laboratories.

Qualicaps Group has named Glen Broadstreet to the newly created position of global chief financial officer, reporting to CEO Herb Hugill.

Science Oriented Solutions (SOS), a member of the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group (PHCG), has appointed Sharon Huss as director of business development.

Tara Webb has been named senior director, business development, at Accelerated Community Oncology Research Network (ACORN), a US oncology-focused Contract Research Organization (CRO) and clinical trial network.

Bioanalytical contract research organization Vitalea Science has appointed Robert Ings to its scientific advisory board. Ings was most recently vice president of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) at Roche Palo Alto. He is also founder and President of RMI-Pharmacokinetics, a pharmaceutical consultancy firm.

Stat-Tech Services has named Greg Ginn to the post of vice president, biostatistics and data management. Stat-Tech Services provides biostatistical consulting and analysis, clinical data management, programming solutions, report production and regulatory support services.

Jim Wetzel has left his post as manager of performance technology at Kendle International in order to join communications specialist MedPoint Communications as director of strategic account services. He is responsible for expanding business relations with MedPoint’s existing clinical research customer base as well as providing instructional design expertise in eMedia.
