Flexibility is going to be a key driver for the pharmaceutical market in the next few years, according to Millipore's VP of downstream processing Paul Chapman.

Chapman spoke with in-PharmaTechnologist at this year's InterPhex trade show in New York, US where the firm launched its Mobius FlexReady range of processing solutions for clarification, buffer and media preparation, tangential flow filtration and virus filtration.

The four platforms use Millipore's Flexware single-use filter assemblies and process-ready hardware to allow pharmaceutical industry clients to rapidly configure and validate their processes, shortening development and manufacturing timelines.

Chapman explained that: "Customers want more flexibility with varied batch sizes, faster processing times and more efficiency in their unit operations."
