Pall’s Stax single-use depth filter attracted interest from a “number of biotechnology companies” at Interphex, according to director of marketing Ian Sellick who explained how the system can save space, time and money.

in-PharmaTechnologist saw the system at this year’s Interphex in New York, US and spoke with Sellick about Stax’s unique features and why these make it desirable to biotechs.

He explained how the system’s modular design, which works “a bit like children’s building blocks”, improves ease of handling and saves of space.

Despite looking significantly different from stainless steel systems that perform the same function Stax uses the same geometry and media as these traditional set-ups, reducing the need amount of revalidation needed to implement Pall’s technology.
