Merck selects Aegis’ Discoverant for process management
Merck Serono, the small molecules development division of Germany’s Merck KGaA, will use Aegis Analytical’s Discoverant data management and analytics platform at its manufacturing facility in Vevey Switzerland.
The system, which is designed to help drugmakers manage and control manufacturing and biopharmaceutical processes, brings together production data with analytical data from the laboratory, control systems and paper tracking records to provide a comprehensive overview of operations.
The platform will be fully integrated with the Oracle management databases that Merck already has in place at the facility.
Aegis said that Discoverant “provide[s] process understanding which increases predictability, streamlines manufacture, reduces process start-up risks, contributes to improved quality, decreased cycle times and assures [regulatory] compliance.”
