An executive reshuffle at PPD that caused share price to dip – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma provides its latest round up of movements in the pharmaceutical outsourcing sector, including an executive reshuffle at PPD that caused share price to dip.

In the reshuffle PPD​ appointed David Grange​, a retired Brigadier General in the US Army who has served on the company’s board since 2003, as its CEO.

This position was vacated by Fredric Eshelman​ who has been moved to the newly created post of executive chairman of the board of directors. In addition Ernest Mario​ has been appointed lead independent director after serving as the non-executive chairman of the board since 1993.

PPD’s reshuffle was followed by a 2.5 per cent dip in the company’s share price, which it is yet to fully recover from.

SIRO ClinPharm​ has appointed Scott Spector ​to the post of president strategic operations Europe. Spector has over 15 years international experience at contract research organisations (CRO) including AAI Pharma and Quintiles.

Scott Treiber ​has been promoted to become inVentiv Clinical Solutions’ executive vice president, clinical development solutions. Prior to the promotion Treiber served at inVentiv as senior vice president, clinical operations.

In this new role Treiber will take responsibility for leading the CRO services group “and facilitating the interaction between clinical service groups​”.

Treiber has more than 20 years experience in the industry, working for companies including PharmaNet.

Sciformix Corporation​, a provider of knowledge process outsourcing services to pharma and biotech,​has appointed Sidney Kahn ​to lead the company’s pharmacovigilance practice.

Kahn has extensive experience in drug safety and risk management having worked for 17 years in academia, 13 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson and established his own pharmacovigilance consulting practice in 2002.
