The companies are launching PFC India, which they believe will combine PFC’s strengths as an established contract research organisation (CRO) with the local expertise and trial management skills possessed by ELS.
PFC India believes that its ability to “bring an unprecedented focus on quality data and good clinical practice to India” will be popular with clients, especially because the “Drugs Controller General’s office of India is stepping up its compliance standards”.
The companies are hoping this increased focus in quality will boost demand for services provided by experienced and established brands, which would help PFC India gain a share of the country’s booming clinical trials sector.
PFC India will be based in New Delhi, India and offer clients study planning, monitoring, audit and data management services.
Respective strengths
European CRO PFC selected ELS as its partner following rigorous due diligence and after establishing they both aim to “conduct clinical research with the highest levels of credibility, ethics and integrity”.
ELS describes itself as a US-based India-focused clinical trial management organisation and it is this local knowledge that PFC is hoping to use to ease its entry into the market.
In addition PFC said that ELS has a proven track in achieving very good patient recruitment and retention rates, which are key factors when companies are selecting a CRO to work with.
ELS has offices in the US and 21 in India, from which it offers services including regulatory consulting, technology transfer, training of clinical research stakeholders and site identification.
