TFS and Siemens hope to have process analysis down PAT
US group Thermo Fisher Scientific and industrial engineering giant Siemens have teamed up to offer the pharmaceutical industry a new way of assessing processes used during early drug development, manufacturing scale up and commercial production.

The new solution combines Thermo Fisher Scientific’s widely used Antaris line of Fourier Transform Near infrared analysers (FT-NIR) with Siemens’ Sipat control software platform in an approach that, the firms claim, can provide advanced process understanding and control data.

in-PharmaTechnologist spoke with Jeffrey Hirsch from Thermo Fisher Scientific and Frederik Jaenen from Siemens about the motivation for the project and what the combined technology can offer drugmakers.
