Ampac Fine Chemicals’ (AFC) anti pollution efforts have been recognised by Californian authorities for the third year running.

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and the Chemical Industry Council of California (CICC) commended the API and intermediates maker for the “implementation of streamlined, sustainable cleaning activities” in its manufacturing processes.

AFC president Aslam Malik said that: “Through the selection of better processes we reduce cycle time, emissions, raw material usage and waste and thus benefit the environment and at the same time enhance our profitability."

Company VP of quality operations and regulatory affairs Jeff Robinson was also pleased, explaining that: “[achieving] these reductions in waste...[was] especially challenging in the light of the highly FDA-regulated operating environment.”
