Appointments at Patheon, Pharmarama and Omnia Biologics – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at Patheon, Pharmarama and Omnia Biologics.

Patheon​ has appointed Francisco Negron​ as vice president (VP) and general manager of its Puerto Rico operations. Negron has more than 19 years experience in pharma, much of it in Puerto Rico, at companies including Rhone Poulenc Rorer and Novartis.

Sandra Morales ​has been appointed senior operations manager at Pharmarama​, a UK-headquartered company that sources comparator drugs for global clinical trials.

Morales has nearly 20 years of pharma and biotech research experience at companies including Amgen, where she oversaw facilities, environmental health and safety and operations at the Cambridge, Massachusetts, US site.

Contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) Omnia Biologics ​has appointed Stephanie Finnegan​ as senior VP of business development. Finnegan is a founder CMO Goodwin Biotechnology and served as its CEO for 17 years.

Frontage ​has made two appointments to its leadership team and strengthened its business development operation. Samir Ghodbane​ has been appointed as general manager of CMC (chemistry, manufacturing and controls) services and CTM (clinical trial materials) manufacturing.

Ghodbane has experience of product development and technical operations for branded and generic pharmaceuticals at Actavis, Alpharma and Wyeth. In addition Daniel Tang​ has been appointed as VP DMPK (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics) and bioassay.

Tang will be based in Shanghai, China. He has previously worked at ChemPartner, Quest Pharmaceutical Services and Pfizer. Finally, Ron Connolly​ has been appointed as senior VP of business development, taking responsibility for sales, marketing and strategic initiatives.

Connolly has worked at Frontage for seven years and has also held positions at Flavine, Wyeth, Sanofi-Aventis and GlaxoSmithKline.

Grant Barnett ​has been appointed as business development director at Synexus​. Barnett has experience in the global pharmaceutical industry at Schering-Plough and several major contract research organisations (CRO), most recently at Kendle.
