Appointments at PPD, LAB Research, Cedra and InVentiv Health – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at PPD, LAB Research, Cedra and InVentiv Health.

Lee Babiss​ has been named as executive vice president (EVP) of global laboratory services at PPD​. In this capacity Babiss will provide strategic direction for PPD’s bioanalytical and global central laboratories, as well as BioDuro, the China-based company acquired last year.

Babiss previously worked as director of pharmaceutical research at Roche and has also held positions at Glaxo during his 21 year career.

LAB Research (LRI)​ has made a number of appointments. Alain Tanguay​ has joined the company as chief financial officer, Kabil Al-Sabti ​has been appointed senior scientist, genetic toxicology and Marta Grosz ​has been named as senior scientist, inhalation department.

Furthermore, Luc Mainville​, president and CEO of LRI, will resume management responsibilities for the company’s Canadian site following the departure of Daniel Ménard​ five months after he was appointed. .

Steve Unger ​has been appointed as VP and laboratory director at Cedra​. Unger was previously a senior director at Wyeth and also spent seven years at Bristol-Myers Squibb working on the transfer of analytical methodology to various contract research organisations (CRO).

inVentiv Health ​has named Eric Sirota ​as president of commercial services. Sirota worked at Pfizer for 20 years, most recently as VP of US marketing, commercial strategy and innovation, and regional sales within the Powers business unit.

Judith Smith​ has joined SciQuest​ as director of procurement strategies. SciQuest provides procurement systems to eight of the 10 largest pharma companies and Smith will help the company develop new services and products.

PRA International ​has appointed Robin Foldesy ​as VP of project management for the Americas. Before joining PRA Foldesy worked at Wyeth and he has also held positions at Gynopharma and Ortho Pharmaceutical.
