Japan-based CRO Mitsubishi Chemical Medience (MCM) has purchased a range of Provantis preclinical software modules from Instem to manage study processes and collect data.

MCM will use the software modules, which cover general toxicology, pathology and protocol and report assembly, for use at its sites in Kashima and Kumamoto, Japan.

Currently the contract research organisation (CRO) uses two separate systems. By replacing both of these with Provantis MCM believes it can reduce operational costs and streamline processes.

MCM plans to begin using Provantis for its good laboratory practice (GLP) compliant studies in 2011. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
