Appointments at AMRI, Oracle, Cmed, BioClinica and BioStorage – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at AMRI, Oracle, Cmed, BioClinica and BioStorage.

AMRI ​has promoted a number of members of its sales leadership team. Mark Sawicki ​has been named as vice president (VP) of business development for Europe. Sawicki joined AMRI in 2004 as director of business development.

Christopher Conway ​is the new senior director of business development for North American discovery services. Conway joined AMRI in 2008 after working at Johnson & Johnson. Finally, Angie Urdanoff​, a former GE Silicones employee, is now senior director, sales operations.

Oracle ​has hired Mark Hurd ​to replace Charles Phillips ​as president and as a member of the board of directors. Phillips asked to leave the company in December but stayed on through the integration of Sun.

Hurd resigned as CEO of Hewlett-Packard (HP) last month. HP has filed a lawsuit against Hurd claiming his appointment at Oracle would put trade secrets at risk. Oracle described the lawsuit as “vindictive​” and said the HP board is acting with “utter disregard​” to the firms’ partnership.

Andrew Kellett ​has joined Cmed Group​ as chief financial officer. Kellett is a former finance director of Genetix and has also worked at Quest Diagnostics.

BioStorage Technologies ​has appointed Russ Hager ​as global director of supply chain. Hager joins from Belden and has also worked at Abbott Laboratories.

Garry Johnson ​has been named as SVP and chief technology officer of BioClinica​. Johnson has more than 15 years of relevant experience, most recently at Dendrite International.

Recruitment specialist Praxis ​has hired Robert Loll ​as VP of business development. Loll has previously worked at Patient interaction, Pass Privilege and NovaCare Outpatient Rehabilitation.
