INC Research has strengthened its management team in emerging markets. Claudia Trillo joins INC as medical director in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Trillo has previously worked at Quintiles, Searle, GlaxoSmithKline and Kendle.
Rick Chen has been named as associate medical director in Beijing, China. Chen has more than 10 years of academic experience in ischemic stroke, cardiovascular disease and rheumatoid arthritis research.
Bhawana Awasthy has been appointed as senior medical director in Delhi, India. Awasthy has 17 years of clinical practice and research experience and is the founder of Xcelerx Communications.
Velesco Pharmaceutical Services has hired Shirley Smith as director of quality. Smith has previously worked at Richard-Allan Scientific and Pfizer. While working at Velesco Smith will continue in her leadership role at PharmaMed Resources.
In addition Yuan Chen has joined Velesco as senior pharmaceutical scientist. Before joining Velesco Chen worked at Pfizer eight years and also Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories for two years.
Kim Basciani has been named as director of eRecruitment at Acurian. Basciani has performed online commerce and direct marketing for brands including CDnow.com, eDiets.com and Advanta.
Asterand has appointed Dalia Cohen as chief scientific officer. Cohen will take responsibility for shaping scientific positioning and strategy. Before joining Asterand Cohen worked at Novartisfor 15 years.
Mac McElroy has joined Cmed Group as CEO of its US unit. McElroy worked as executive director of strategic development, Americas at Chiltern International and also held positions at CTMS.
Domainex has hired Joanne McCudden as head of business development. Before joining Domainex McCudden worked at SynCo Bio Partners and Cobra Biomanufacturing.
Lawrence Lima III has been named as director of analytical chemistry at Ricerca Biosciences. Lima has previously worked at Cyanta, Allergan and Procter & Gamble.
