INC Research has hired John Barker as executive vice president (EVP) to lead its global services business unit. Barker has contract research organisation (CRO) leadership experience from time at PPD, InGenium Research, Quintiles and Accelerated Clinical Research Systems.
AS Arvind has been appointed as a strategic advisor to Ecron Acunova. Before joining Ecron Arvind worked at Clinigene, a subsidiary of Biocon, and West Wales General Hospital.
Lab21 has named Susan Lowther as chief financial officer. Lowther has more than 20 years of biopharm and healthcare experience at companies including BioWisdom, RiboTargets, Lonza Biologics, Celltech and Monsanto.
David Heron has joined ClinOps, formerly Pacific Data Designs, as CEO and member of its board of directors. Heron has previously worked at Synarc, Webify Solutions, Vitria Technology and Health Net.
Emerald BioStructures has created a scientific advisory board (SAB). The four person board includes John Hunt, co-director of the crystallography group of the Northeast Structural Genomics, and John McCall, a former employee of Pharmacia and Pfizer.
John Mulligan, founder and former CEO of Blue Heron Biotechnology, and Lynn Silver, who worked at Merck Research Laboratories for 21 years, are the other two members of the SAB.
Nick Angelucci has been appointed as director of professional services at Acsis, a supply chain visibility and traceability firm. Angelucci has more than 15 years of experience managing hardware and software integrations including a period at Bridge Information Systems.
Huron Consulting Group has hired Timothy Fournier as managing director of its health and education consulting unit. Fournier worked at Huron earlier in his career, before leaving to work at a university.
Amanda Furnell has joined Biotec Services International as head of project management.
