Group forms for serialisation & ePedigree compliance
The collaboration, called 4 Serialization, brings together companies with expertise in supply chain optimisation, vision systems, pharmaceutical printed packaging, and machinery. By combining capabilities the group can offer clients a service spanning different elements of ePedigree.
“The ePedigree mandates put forth will undoubtedly cause undue stress to the pharmaceutical and biotech organisations tasked with meeting these requirements. We formed ‘4 Serialization’ to minimise this burden”, said Gene Eubanks, president and CEO of collaboration member Acsis.
Clients will be offered an enterprise strategy for compliance combining 2D and RFID (radio-frequency identification)-enabled printed components, packaging and distribution execution systems and ePedigree that integrates into existing ERP (enterprise resource planning).
This will give clients an ePedigree and serialisation compliance system that meets each company’s specific needs. While helping clients meet serialisation requirements 4 Serialization will also support data collection needed to build and benchmark return on investment.
Members of 4 Serialization have been cross-trained on all components. Using this knowledge the group will work on common issues such as serial number structures and provide educational workshops and webinars.
By providing educational services 4 Serialization intends to communication information about global standards, pilot programmes, and how to support serialised and non-serialised lines at one site.
The collaboration brings together: Acsis, a supply chain visibility and traceability data collection business; Cognex, a developer of machine vision sensors and systems; Nosco, a producer of pharma printed packaging; and Omega Design, a provider of machinery.
